Home » Byford Health Hub Construction Has Commenced
Construction is now underway on the $42.2 million Byford Health Hub, marking a major milestone in delivering integrated health and social care for the rapidly growing Serpentine-Jarrahdale community.
The two-storey Byford Health Hub forms part of the Cook Government’s record $4.9 billion health infrastructure investment and will be the first of its kind in Western Australia. The facility will offer a single, convenient entry point where residents can access a wide range of primary care, community, social and specialist health services close to home.
The ground floor will include dedicated primary care spaces, PathWest pathology collection facilities, mobile X-ray treatment bays, and a plaster and consult room. It will also house a mental health service with consultation rooms, a therapy space for family and group sessions, and a new community care navigator service to support people with complex needs. Flexible meeting rooms will be available for group therapy, education sessions and use by local community and social groups.
The first floor will feature 28 consultation and therapy rooms for WA Health outpatient services and non-WA Health providers, supporting both in-person and telehealth appointments. A fully equipped rehabilitation gym will support community-based recovery programs, particularly for older adults, helping people remain active and reduce the need for hospital care. The hub will also include three child health nursing clinic rooms and a welcoming waiting area for families.
Designed through extensive consultation with clinicians the hub is located on Bushman Glade in Byford, just south of the new METRONET station and north of the shopping centre.
Once complete, the Byford Health Hub is expected to significantly ease pressure on Armadale Hospital’s emergency department, which currently manages more than 70,000 presentations each year.
This hub will be beneficial for Whitby Town residents for medical purposes with just 5 minutes drive from the estate.
